On Sunday, 2.6.2024, KOVOZOO Staré Město celebrated the holiday of all lovers of veterans and motoring, the fifth annual event VETERANS' RALLY IN KOVOZOO took place. During the event, 512 vintage vehicles of all kinds and 7,300 visitors arrived.
Although the weather was not ideal and the area was rained on several times during the day, the participants did not get discouraged and enjoyed a nice day with a retro atmosphere. Traditionally, the most abundant participation was vehicles with the year of production 1945 - 1994 and also motorcycles. But we could also admire beautiful pre-war cars, popular "Americas", trucks or even young cars from the Youngtimers category. This year's gathering featured some extraordinary pieces from the category of military equipment - for example, the OSHKOSH M1070, which is a tank tractor with a total weight of up to 100 tons primarily designed for transporting the M1 Abrams tank. Or, for example, the AM General M-818 tractor with an M172 semi-trailer and the armoured personnel carrier "hakl" SD.kfz.251. 
The ELEGANCE competition was traditionally held, where an expert jury selected the 10 most beautiful vehicles across categories and the winners were awarded with original plaques made in the KOVOZOO PORODNICA from scrap iron and wood. The ELEGANCE prizes went to the Citroen B14G, Tatra 805, Skoda Popular, Mercedes Benz W108, Citroen 2CV "duck", Zetor 25A crawler, replica of the Dora electric wheelbarrow, Ogar motorcycle, the aforementioned Oshkosh M1070 A military tractor and a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette.
Along with the historic vehicles, old carriages also descended on the site. The girls from the RETRO CART group traditionally came to KOVOZOO and broke records again. 81 retro buggies took part in the KOVOZOO 2024 vintage car reunion.
Since the first gathering, which took place in 2019 and when 194 vehicles arrived at the venue, the event has grown considerably and is now one of the largest veteran events in the Czech Republic. Moreover, this year the VETERANS GATHERING at KOVOZOO received a certificate from the multinational organization FIVA (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens) confirming that the event meets internationally recognized standards for events with the theme of historic vehicles - at the national level. This is one of the prerequisites for the event to attract international participants.
A varied accompanying programme was also prepared. Visitors were transported by a BS 200 steam locomotive and could try out a hand-operated train. Welding took place in the PORODNICA, and the forge was used for the sixth time. Visitors could drive Ford Mustang GT and Ferrari 488 GTB supercars. Portrait caricatures were drawn by the well-known cartoonist Ivan Křemeček and his colleagues, and popular children's attractions such as a bouncy castle, face painting, an F1 simulator or even pedal retro cars were prepared for children. The Crazy Flappers dance troupe, the Koňadra Women's Choir, the band Yellow Submarine, Team Revival Martin and the band Akustyk provided entertainment on a total of 4 stages.
The fifth year of the event is successfully over and the next one is already in the works, which will take place on Sunday 1.6.2025.
